North Devon has so much family fun and places to take the children for a great day out, whatever the weather. Arlington Court and Rosemoor both have great facilities for children, but the places below all specialise in children having funtastic holidays:
The Milky Way: The Milky Way is a favourite all weather adventure when our grandchildren visit. Ideal for children from 2 to 12, there’s dodgems, rollercoasters, indoor play, archery, amazing live shows and much much more all included in one price for a fun day out.
Watermouth Castle: Not a castle at all, but a stately home built in 1825, Watermouth Castle is now an all weather intriguing (and some may say eccentric) fun day out for families with younger children.
The Big Sheep: We remember going to the Big Sheep when our children were small and it’s still a fun day out now when we take the grandchildren. This all weather theme park (guess the theme) has plenty of animals to feed, rides to ride, and play stuff to play, as well as informative and interesting live shows (ever seen a sheep that looks like a wolf?).
Quince Honey Farm: Want to learn all about bees and honey? Then Quince Honey Farm is the place to go, it also has a fun indoor play centre.Just on the edge of South Molton, it is another good place to stop before your arrival with us.
Exmoor Zoo: High up on the edge of Exmoor is the home of the UK’s only pair of Black Leopards. Exmoor Zoo is a relatively small zoo which concentrates on the conservation of smaller animals; this means there aremany more opportunities to get up close and learn so much more. I just love the Otters; who wouldn’t want to be a little ‘otter on a cold day?
Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park: Some great wild animals and even more wild dinosaurs – watch out though the ‘saus are animatronic so there is a real possibility of being covered in dinosaur “spray”. Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is great in any weather.
