Stayed at ‘The Old Vic’ on 18th July for 2 nights. All the previous comments were spot on. Sandi and Bryan were wonderful hosts. Room was great. Breakfast was delicious. The slice of homemade cake on arrival, and the following day, and fresh milk for your coffee/ tea was a really nice touch. So, forget the rest, and book the best, and enjoy ‘The Old Vic ‘ Experience.
Stayed in May 2015 and all I can say is all the other reviews have said it for me! Sandi and Bryan have been meticulous in the decoration and maintenance of the Vicarage.
The huge family rooms sleeping a double and two singles in two rooms with super bathroom and, joy of joys, a separate WC.
Bryan was working to “do” the garden but it was already an oasis to sit out in at the end of the day.
It is so good we might come back to Devon from Essex just to stay at the Old Vicarage!
Stayed for one night as we were running the next day, had a lovely big room, very clean & quiet. A nice piece of home made cake on arrival which was very welcome! Only had a continental breakfast but returning later this year for 2 nights to try the cooked breakfast. Guesthouse is walking distance to the town. Overall a lovely place to stay with very friendly hosts. See you in September.
We stayed here last year & were very pleased to return as the very high standards were maintained. Sandi & Bryan are great hosts & made a memorable stay with their generous hospitality & attention. We were on the second floor with a view of the lovely garden. The bedroom was very clean & comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent with a large selection to choose from & Sandi’s afternoon cakes were delicious. The centre of Barnstaple is a short stroll with a number ot restaurants & pubs.We hope to return again next year & would recommend the Old Vicarage to family & friends.
